The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program is an economic immigration program. The government designed it to attract foreign nationals who have the skills, education, and work experience needed to contribute to the local economy. If the province nominates you, you and your dependent family members can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residence.
The NBPNP offers several distinct pathways tailored to different types of applicants:
1. New Brunswick Express Entry Stream
This stream connects directly with the federal Express Entry system. It is designed for highly skilled workers who can contribute to New Brunswick’s economy and are ready to enter the local labor market quickly. To qualify, you must have a valid federal Express Entry profile, meet specific language and education requirements, and demonstrate a genuine intention to live in New Brunswick. Receiving a nomination through this stream adds 600 points to your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, virtually guaranteeing you an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
2. New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream
If you have a valid, full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible New Brunswick employer, this stream is for you. The Skilled Worker Stream helps local employers fill critical labor shortages by hiring foreign nationals or international graduates. You must demonstrate that you have the proper qualifications, training, and work experience to perform the job duties successfully.
3. New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream
New Brunswick welcomes experienced business owners and senior managers who want to invest in the province. The Business Immigration Stream allows entrepreneurs to establish, operate, and actively manage a business in New Brunswick. You must have a strong business plan, a significant personal net worth, and the willingness to make a minimum financial investment in a new or existing local enterprise.
4. New Brunswick Strategic Initiative Stream for French-Speaking Immigrants
Because New Brunswick is a bilingual province, the government actively seeks French-speaking immigrants to enrich its Francophone communities. This stream targets skilled workers who possess strong French language skills, have specialized work experience, and intend to live and work permanently in the province.
